Description:
Presence of bubbles due to the loss of adhesion in some areas, generating the lifting of the film of the paint as a result.
Possible causes:
- Application of the paint on a very hot surface.
- The substrate has residual moisture, in whose case, the moisture in the interior of the wall emigrates toward the surface and pushes the film of paint, generating the bubbles.
- Application of solvent base products on wet surfaces.
- Water base paints are exposed to dew, moisture, or the paint, recently applied, is exposed to the rain.
- Inadequate preparation of the surface: the paint is applied on a contaminated surface and the paint cannot adhere.
- The product used to repair the substrate or base is not the most adequate one.
Solution:
- Remove the paint by scraping or sanding. Repair the surface, making sure you eliminate completely the moisture.
- Seal the wet area with PVA or with a waterproofing material.
- Let the area affected to dry completely.
- Paint again.
- Let the paint to dry perfectly before applying other coats.
