Description:
Splitting of a dry film of paint. In the first phase, the problem appears like a line of cracking. At the end, the flakes of paint are done notorious.
Possible causes:
- Inadequate paint thickness or ever extension of the paint during the application.
- Inadequate preparation of the surface or application of the paint on a non sealed surface.
Solution:
- Remove completely the painting cracked. Sand the cracked edges. Make sure the adjacent areas to the problem zone do not have low adhesion.
- Repair the affected area with plaster stucco and then paint.
- Apply the paint in the quantities recommended: apply the quantity of paint according to its respective yielding (area per gallon). Follow also the recommendations related to number of coats and dilution to assure the adequate thickness of the paint film.
