Description:
Not uniform appearance of the color, especially when the surface is painted with roller and the edges are “cut in” with brush. Generally, the areas painted with roller seen darker. Dispersed areas can be darker than the adjacent sections painted with roller or brush.
Possible causes:
- Application of the paint to different film thicknesses, caused by applying “cut in” with brushes versus roller application.
- There is no a “wet edge” while painting, what means you apply “fresh” paint adjacent to paint that is already dry or almost dry.
- The dilution is different applications or there is no a uniform stirring of the paint with the solvent in every application.
Solution:
- Paint first the most extensive areas and then the smallest ones. Work in small sections of the room to paint in order to keep "wet edges". When you use brush for "cut in" make sure to paint the minimum possible area, therefore, use the roller close to the edges.
- Apply the paint in the most uniform way. See the section Installation Advices. Make sure to stir very well the painting before applying it, especially if you are going to dilute it.
