What is Recol® Wax?

Recol® Wax is base water acrylic wax, especially formulated to enhance the shine and resistance of surfaces painted with decorative stucco such as Venetian Recol® Plaster.

What advantages does Recol® Wax have regarding other waxes?

, due to it is a water base wax, lets impeccable applications free of stains.  Due to its unique viscosity and due to its application with metallic spatula or trowel, lets an optimum use, minimizing wastes of material. Recol® Wax does not present smell of solvent and it is easier to apply with relation to other liquid or paste waxes. Additionally, due to Recol® Wax is a water base product, it presents more facility in the cleaning of the equipment and tools used in the application. 

Why is it necessary to apply Recol® Wax with spatula or metallic plain?

Recol® Wax has a semi high viscosity, which is required to obtain completely leveled and uniform films. The shine is a phenomenon of surface: more leveled and uniform the surface, better the shine developed.  The use of metallic spatula or trowel let the product being applied in uniform, leveled and controlled way, generating the shine finish desired. 

Why is it necessary to apply Recol® Wax once the decorative stucco is shone?

More leveled and uniform the surface, better the shine developed. Decorative stucco without shine has imperfections on the surface and then has more difficult to obtain a good shine. Decorative stuccoes that have been already shone have a surface with low or null imperfections and then performance better shine.

Can a piece of cloth be used as unique material to shine Recol® Wax?

No. When you apply Recol® Wax it is compulsory to rub initially the dry film with the edge of a metallic spatula or trowel and then touch up the surface with a piece of dry and clean cloth. If you try to shine only with the piece of cloth, it is likely the wax stains and does not develop its shine. 

Is it advisable to mix Recol® Wax with water or other solvent in order to apply it?

No. It is not recommended to mix Recol® Wax with water or other solvent for the application.  The product is formulated ready to apply directly with metallic spatula or trowel. 

How can a coat of Recol® Wax be removed?

Recol® Wax can be removed by sanding with sandpaper or by rubbing the surface with a cloth dampened with water and soft soap.
