In what applications can Neutral Recol® Plaster be used?

The product Neutral Recol® Plaster can be used to repair splits, cracks, scratches; to fill holes and to detail walls and ceilings. 

In what surfaces can Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín and Masitex be applied?

Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín and Masitex can be applied in all surfaces wherever the surface is porous, clean, dry and free of dust, grease, loose particles, contaminant agents and/or moisture. Since this point of view, Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín and Masitex present very good adhesion on stucco, water based paints, concrete, masonry, gypsum, wood, tablex, fibrocement and prefabricated sheets, among others. 

Why is recommended to apply Neutral Recol® Plaster prior to the application of the paint?

Neutral Recol® Plaster improves notably the performance of the paints. When you apply Neutral Recol® Plaster you don’t have to apply a lot of coats of paint to obtain a good final finish and then you save money and time. 

What is the difference between Neutral Recol® Plaster and Masitín/Masitex?

Masitín/Masitex, unlike Neutral Recol® Plaster, has a special formulation to generate finishes with textures or relieves such as aged or rustic. 

What is the difference between Neutral Recol® Plaster-Interior and NeutrL Recol® Plaster-Exterior?

Neutral Recol® Plaster-Exterior, unlike Neutral Recol® Plaster-Interior, contains special raw materials that protect the surface in exterior from conditions such as moderate moisture. 

What is the difference between Masitex and Masitín?

Masitex, unlike Masitín, contains special raw materials that protect the surface exposed in exteriors from factors such as moderate moisture. 

Can the product Neutral Recol® Plaster be applied as final finish?

Not. This product serves as intermediate between the wall and the final coat. To provide with protection and total decoration to the surface is necessary to apply on the stucco products such as water based paint, enamel or decorative stucco. 

Can the product Neutral Recol® Plaster be used as waterproofing?

Not. In spite Neutral Recol® Plaster is a product with high resistance to moisture, it is not a waterproofing product and also does not represents the final solution to this type of problems.  Seal the moisture with a specialized product; then apply Neutral Recol® Plaster and then a water based or alkyd paint as final finish. 

Why is important to assure the surface is clean and dry before applying Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín or Masitex?

Because these factors avoid the good adhesion of these products to the surface.

Why is it not recommendable to apply Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín or Masitex on cement that has been applied a few days before?

In construction, you must assure that the cement surface has at least 1 month since it is applied before apply the stucco. This time must be enough for the surface not only dries superficially, but also hardened completely and then avoid problems of residual moisture, which, at the same time, generates problems of cracking, mildew, colorless or staining in the final film of paint.

What tools must be used to apply Neutral Recol® Plaster?

Advisable application tools are spatula or trowel, preferably metallic or plastic.  Tools as brushes or common rollers are not recommended due to the high viscosity of the product. 

What tools must be used to apply Masitín or Masitex?

The elaboration of relieves or textures can be done through tools such as roller for textures, combs, brushes, among others. 

Once Neutral Recol® Plaster has been applied ¿how long should I wait before applying the final coat?

To paint with water or solvent base paint, you should wait at least 72 hours before applying Neutral Recol® Plaster, protecting the product applied from the moisture and rain during this time. 

Do the products Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín and Masitex undergo cracking or breaking?

Not, whenever preparation of the surface is the adequate one. These products contain a plastic resin that provides an average elasticity and make the products move lightly according with the expansion and contraction of the surface. 

Is it advisable to apply Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín or Masitex on traditional stucco or water base paints?

Yes.  To apply on water based paints it is necessary to clean the surface, sand it very well and withdraw the dust so the adhesion optimizes.  To apply on traditional stucco, check the stucco already applied doesn’t have chalking. If the surface is chalky, it is necessary to seal it with a vinyl or acrylic primer.  In both two cases the surface must be completely clean and dry. 

Which is the time life of the products Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín or Masitex once they have been applied?

The time life of the products Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín or Masitex once they have been applied depends on the erosion and use at which they are exposed and depends also of the maintenance to the final film. In optimum conditions of preparation of surface and application, the life time should be at least five years. To comply with this performance, the products should be protected by paint as final finish. 

Is it advisable to add water to the products Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín or Masitex before they are applied?

Not. Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín and Masitex are formulated to be applied directly without dilution. When they are diluted, the viscosity is reduced and then it is more difficult to apply, reducing also their performance. 

Can the hue of the products Masitín/Masitex be modified?

Yes. In order to confer them color, you can use Recol®Tint. Make sure to incorporate very well Recol®Tint with aid of a clean spatula. 

What is the yielding per gallon of the products Neutral Recol® Plaster, Masitín and Masitex?

For new surfaces, the yielding of Neutral Recol® Plaster is 3-6m2 per gallon. In the case of Masitín and Masitex the yielding is 2-4m2 per gallon, due to they are used in relieves and then more product per unit of area is required.
