What is the difference between PVA-Acrylic and PVA-Vinyl acrylic?

Both products are water base emulsions, but the difference between PVA- Acrylic and PVA-Vinyl acrylic is in the composition. PVA- Acrylic is made of styrene and acrylic-ester copolymers, while PVA- Vinyl acrylic is made of vinyl-acetate and acrylic-ester copolymers.

Which is the use of PVA-Acrylic?

PVA- Acrylic has several applications: binder for products in masonry, concrete, asbestos and wood; adhesive of mortars, vinyl paints, limes, carbides, stuccoes, etc. In addition, considering characteristics of the product, it can be used on other fields such as sealer in concrete, walls, wood and binding materials.  It may also work as waterproofing aid on concrete and roofs.

Which is the use of PVA-Vinyl acrylic?

PVA-Vinyl acrylic has several applications:  binder for water base paints; adhesive for fibrous materials; as sealer product in wood or construction materials and as adhesive for paper, cardboard, wood and cork.

What is the difference between PVA and Recol® Glaze?

Recol® Glaze, unlike PVA, contains special fillers and additives that make Recol® Glaze works as primer of vinyl paints and extends the open time of water base products.

In what proportion should be mixed Recol® Glaze with the water base paint?

Initially, it should be mixed in a proportion 1:1 (for example, 1 gallon of Recol® Glaze with 1 gallon of water base paint), but this proportion can vary in agreement to the open time and the final hiding power of the film. More the hiding power, more the proportion of water base paint; higher the open time of the paint, larger the quantity of Recol®Glaze in the preparation.
