What advantages does RECOL® TRANSPARENCE have regarding other decorative products?

Recol® TRANSPARENCE, due to it is a water base product, allows impeccable applications, free of stains and, additionally, presents more facility in the cleaning of the equipment and tools used in the application. A unique characteristic of product is its pearlescent effect that integrates color and light giving different sensations according to the angle in which the application is watched.    

 

Must RECOL® TRANSPARENCE be mixed with water to be applied?

No. It is not advisable to mix RECOL® TRANSPARENCE with water to be applied, except in the case it is specified in the technique (see the section Installation). The product is ready to apply. 

 

How can a coat of RECOL® TRANSPARENCE be withdrawn?

It can be withdrawn with sandpaper.

 

Can RECOL® TRANSPARENCE be mixed with solvent-base products?

No. RECOL® TRANSPARENCE is a water base product and t is not designed to mix as liquid with solvent base paints. 

 

In what surfaces can the product RECOL® TRANSPARENCE be applied?

RECOL® TRANSPARENCE presents excellent performance on paper, wood, plastic, ceramic and glass, water based paint, enamel, stuccoes and Venetian plaster. 

 

Can RECOL® TRANSPARENCE be used as waterproofing product?

RECOL® TRANSPARENCE is a high water resistant product, due to its composition in base of 100% acrylic resin, which guaranties the waterproof property of the surface; however, if the moisture problem comes from the base or substrate, it is necessary to use a specialized product for such purpose.  

Why is it important to assure that surface is clean and dry before applying RECOL® TRANSPARENCE?

 Because these factors affects the good adhesion of the product. 

 

What tools must be used in the application of RECOL® TRANSPARENCE?

Tools like brushes, rollers, paintbrushes, sponge, air sprayer among others can be used for applying the product and provide different decorative effects. 

Which is the installation lifetime for the product RECOL® TRANSPARENCE?

The installation lifetime of RECOL® TRANSPARENCE depends on the abrasion factors as well as the maintenance you can give to the surface. Under optimum conditions of surface preparation and application, this lifetime is at least five years. 

Should I add water to the product RECOL® TRANSPARENCE before it is applied?

Not at all. The product RECOL® TRANSPARENCE is formulated to be applied directly without dilution; nevertheless, to carry out some decorative effects is required to mix the product with water.  See the section: Application Techniques

Can the hue be modified in the product RECOL® TRANSPARENCE?

Yes. In order to modify the current hue in the product or to use some techniques of decoration, the hue can be modified using pigment rich products such as Recol®tint. Make sure to incorporate very well the products with the aid of a clean spatula.

What is the yielding of the product RECOL® TRANSPARENCE and what factors affect such yielding?

The yielding of RECOL® TRANSPARENCE is between 4-6m2 per 500ml pint. This practical yielding depends on the type of surface, the material to be decor and the complexity of the work to carry out (design and number of coats required for such design).
