In what type of paints can Tilosa be used?

Only in water base paints.

What are the uses of Tilosa?

Tilosa has several uses: it regulates the consistency (viscosity) in vinyl paints and putties, reducing the splashes; regulates water retention, improving the process of dried and film formation; reduces the precipitation of fillers and pigments, avoiding the separation of phases; reinforces the adhesive power and blinding among fillers and PVA´s, enhancing their degree of adhesion.

Can Tilosa be used directly with the paint?

No. You must dilute previously Tilosa in water.  Once the gel is formed, it is possible to mix it with the paint.  If you apply Tilosa directly on the painting, this generates lumps that can damage the final appearance of the finished.

How much water is required to dilute Tilosa?

Initially, a dilution of 1 bag of Tilosa in 5 liters of water (2% approx.) is advisable. Increasing the concentration of Tilosa produces higher viscosity of the system. Decreasing the concentration of Tilosa produces low viscosity of the system.

How can I accelerate the dilution of Tilosa?

Tilosa has a relatively low time of dilution in water under normal conditions; nevertheless, if you want to reduce the time of dilution, there are two ways: mixing Tilosa with warm water (50°C approx.) or adding small quantities of ammonia.  In any case, take into account the recommendations for appropriate personal protection.
