Description:
Defect of the painting characterized by the absence of a completely smooth film, originated by the presence of marks of brush or roller once the paint has dried.
Possible causes:
- Application of additional paint, or premature re-brushing or re-rolling in areas where the paint has dried partly.
- So rapid application or so high extension of the paint on the surface (the brush or roller does not contain sufficient paint to cover correctly the surface to work).
- Inadequate selection in the size of roller or brush.
- Application too thin of the paint film.
- Application of the paint on very hot surfaces or in direct sun.
- Too porous surface to paint.
- Inadequate dilution of the painting.
- The tools of application are not in good condition or are not the best quality.
Solution:
- Let the paint dry completely, sand to smooth and retouch again.
- Wait until the paint has dried completely before retouching.
- Apply the paint using an adequate technique according to the type of paint, type of surface and area of the surface. See the section: Installation Advices.
- Follow the instructions related to number of coats to apply as well as times of drying and retouch.
- Seal or apply a primer in porous surfaces.
