Start the work by cleaning the outside of your home, because the paint, whatever it is, presents low adhesion to greasy, dirty surfaces, with grime or dust. You can use a hose to spray water and a sponge. Use a cleaning agent to remove the dirt. Make sure to rinse perfectly in order to remove the cleaning agent in the surface. Start painting form the top to the base of the house. In areas where there is mold, mildew or discoloration, use Recol® AP-1 for algaecide and fungicide protection (see the section Products).
2
If you are going to paint on wood, make sure to repair holes or gaps with NeutralRecol® Plaster - Exterior (see the section Products). To repair serious problems in the wood, use especial fillers for wood.
3
Remove completely looser, flaked paint. Sand the edges of the area you already removed to help the new paint cover and hide these edges.
4
Use masking tape for areas that are not going to be painted like windows, frameworks, trims, etc. You can also use plastic sheets or paper to protect adjacent areas from drips.
5
Place pieces of plastic sheets on plants and bushes, or places where there is possibility the paint sprinkles.
6
You will save time and work painting in the following order: a) front, b) sides, c) windows, d) frameworks or trims, and e) doors.
