Description:
Formation of white and fine dust on the surface of the paint due to the erosion, giving the appearance color fading.

Possible causes:

  1. Paints formulated for interiors are applied in exteriors.
  2. The surface is not sealed enough before applying the paint.
  3. Extra dilution of the paint.
  4. The thickness of the paint film is inadequate (very thin).
  5. The hardened time of the paint is not completed.
  6. The painting washes with a detergent or very abrasive clean agent.
  7. Surfaces like lime, carbide, talc, gypsum or very porous are not sealed or are incorrectly sealed.

Solution:

    • Remove the chalking by washing the surface with a not abrasive cleaner. If, after the cleaning procedure the surface is still chalky, keep on washing until the loose particles are removed completely. Rinse the surface and let it to dry perfectly.
    • Mix the painting with PVA-Acrylic for applications in exteriors or mix with PVA-Vinyl acrylic for applications in interiors.
    • Apply one or more coats of the mixture paint-PVA.
