RECOL® TRAVERTINO

   Cracking

   Color Saturation

Description

Presence of uniform cracks in the surface of Recol® Travertino. These cracks generally do not expose the substrate in the base.

Posible causes

Natural aging of the paint film due to fluctuations of temperature. Constant expansion and contraction gives as a result the loss of elasticity of the paint film and consequently it cracks.
Very hard coats are applied on a very flexible substrate, for instance, plastic.
Coats of product are applied with high final thickness.
The product is applied on sheen or smooth surfaces.
Direct and quick drying of the film of travertino.

Solutions

Sand the surface or shiny coats before painting.
Follow the recommendations related to dry, harden and retouch time for Recol®
Travertino.
In cracked surfaces, sand and apply new product in very thin layers to smooth the finish.

Description

When the surface of Recol® Travertino is painted, the color is concentrated in one area, making such color so perceptible.

Posible cuauses
The paint or dye was not appropriate diluted before being applied.
The application technique of the pant or dye is not the most appropriate.
At the moment of applying the final finish, Recol® Travertino has not dried or hardened completely.
The application tool is not in good conditions or is not the most suitable.

Solutions
When use pure vinyl paint or dye (for instance Recol® Tint), make sure you dilute they are diluted before painting.
Make sure you use an appropriate application technique. It is advisable to make a previous application to confirm that both application technique and dilution are appropriate.
Make sure you apply the final finish once the product has dried completely. You can verify that the surface has dried by touch.
Make sure the application tool is in good condition and is appropriate for the technique you want to apply. In order to modify the color on Recol® Travertino’s surface, it is advisable the use of the sponge, in such a way that this tool does not saturate completely and the color does not concentrate in only one area.
