Materials: Venetian Recol® Plasterverde pino and blanco, RECOL® GLAZE, spatula, trowel, fan or feather paintbrush, Recol® Tintnegro and verde vivo, sandpaper number 400, 500, 600 and 1000, Recol® Wax, a recipient for mixture.
Step 1
Apply two uniform coats of Venetian Recol® Plasterverde pino, butin different directions.
To apply the second coat, intensify the hue of Venetian Recol® Plaster with Recol® Tint to achieve contrast of colors. In this case, Venetian Recol® Plasterverde pino and Recol® Tintnegro and verde wereused.
Sand between dry coats with sandpaper number 400.
Step 2
Prepare a mixture of Venetian Recol® Plasterblanco with one part of Recol® Glaze and one part of water.
Draw with a fan or feather paintbrush the marble veins that you want to imitate.
Modify the color of the previous mixture with Recol® Tintocre (or other color that you desire) and paint partly the veins already drawn. Let the surface to dry.
Take the modified Venetian Recol® Plaster used for the second coat and intensify the hue again with Recol® Tintnegro and verde and apply a third, translucent coat.
Sand the dry surface with sandpaper number 500.
Step 3
Apply from one to two very thin coats (almost translucent) of Venetian Recol® Plaster modified in the step 2; let dry between coats until obtaining a detailed and smooth surface.
Sand between dry coats with sandpaper number 600 and detail the last coat with sandpaper number 1000 to optimize the performance of the product and to obtain a finish with excellent sheen and leveling.
Step 4
Verify that the edge of the spatula is sharp and does not present imperfections that may scratch the surface.
Shine by rubbing strongly the edge of the spatula on the dry surface.
Apply with spatula a very thin layer of Recol® Wax;let the surface to dry and rub the surface again. Recol® Wax intensifies sheen and color, enhancing the hardness, resistance and washability of the surface.
The secret of this technique is in modifying the color from light to dark or from dark to light, which is possible with Venetian Recol® Plaster through different intensities of colors or by modifying a color with Recol® Tint as it was presented.
