Correct the bigger imperfections of the surface such as recesses, cracks or paint in bad condition before proceeding to apply.

Prepare the tool by slightly sharpening it with sandpaper 360 to reach a knife edge or round edges. In addition you can round the tips of the tool to avoid scratches on the surface.

Apply with metallic spatula or trowel from three to four coats (or more if necessary) of Venetian Recol® Plaster, taking into account that different traces and directions  of application partially define the visual appearance of final stripe in the decorative stucco.

To achieve a smoother, detailed and brilliant surface, sand each coat when they are dried.

To determine the grain of the sandpaper to use, you must take into account how many coats lack for the finishing: the lesser coat, the finer the grain of the sandpaper to avoid that the final finish looks with scratches. Example: last coat with minimum sandpaper 600, passing once again with sandpaper 1000; penultimate coat with minimum sandpaper 500, antepenultimate coat with minimum sandpaper 400, and so on.

Verify that the surface is porous and is clean, dry, free of dust, grease, loose particles, paint in bad condition or any contaminant agent.
The application of the first coat of Venetian Recol® Plaster must be as smooth as you can. Avoid working on the wet film because it can cause problems of adhesion.
The drying time for the first coat of Venetian Recol® Plaster is about 1 hour. Make sure the surface is dry before applying additional coats.
If you want to have a smoothness surface, you must detail several times the surface.

The second coat of Venetian Recol® Plaster is so thin, that in practice is like a transparency.
The function of the second coat is detail the first coat, correcting the possible imperfections or differences in level in the surface.
The second coat must have neither the half in thickness of the first one. The drying time is approximately from 10 to 15 minutes.
Before proceeding to apply the third coat, make sure that the second coat is smooth. Otherwise, sand lightly the surface with sandpaper number 360 or upper.

The third coat of Venetian Recol® Plaster defines the final design.
In this coat the surface is decorated with the technique desired, withdrawing the excess of product.
The grains drawn will depend on the direction of the application, the amplitude of the different lines and the tool used.
When it is necessary to combine colors, mix Venetian Recol® Plaster of different colors or use Recol® Tint.
The mixture of colors can be carried out in separate containers or in the same tool of application.

This step has as function to reduce the small imperfections and differences in level, rub the surface and accentuate the decorative effect. It is important that the fourth coat remains totally smooth; it is recommended to sand the fourth coat with sandpaper number 600 or above.
Shine by rubbing with force the edge of the spatula on the dried surface.  Apply with spatula a quite thin layer of Recol® Wax; allow it to dry and shine again. Recol® Wax intensifies the bright and color, increasing the hardness, resistance and washability conditions of the surface.
